Alex Jones returns to The One Show after maternity leave – but not for long


ALEX Jones tonight made a triumpant return to The One Show, just weeks after giving birth.

But before you get too excited, she hasn’t fully come off maternity leave just yet.

Fans were delighted to see Alex Jones back on The One Show tonight[/caption]

In fact, her appearance on this evening’s episode was just a one off for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

She was joined by regular hosts Jermaine Jenas and Ronan Keating.

Fans immediately took to Twitter to share their joy at Alex being back on the box, with this one tweeting: “So so happy to see Alex back on #theoneshow tonight!”

While another said: “Yay Alex is back!”

This fan was ecstatic: “Welcome back Alex!! Woooooo!”

It’s not known when Alex will be back again hosting The One Show full time.


This isn’t the first time the mum-of-three has returned to the show since her maternity leave started.

In fact she made an appearance just a week after giving birth to her daughter.

Alex appeared via video link from her home and even debuted her newborn live on the BBC show at the end of August.

It is her third child and first daughter with husband Charlie Thompson

The popular presenter welcomed her daughter with insurance broker husband, Charlie Thompson.

The pair are already parents to sons, Ted, four, and Kit, two.

The couple got engaged in February 2015 after meeting at a party in 2011.

They then tied the knot the same year at Cardiff Castle on December 31 – announcing they were expecting their first child less than a year later.
