Britain’s Got Talent’s spin-off show, The Champions, is spread over six weeks, but filming was wrapped in under a week.
Ahead of tomorrow evening’s prerecorded final, 29 year-old magician Richard Jones revealed the behind the scenes workings of one of telly’s biggest hits.
Though Richard didn’t make it to the final, he was able to shed some light on how BGT is filmed.
He told The Sun Online : “It was all in one week. I think it was Wednesday to Tuesday.”
Richard also explained that hosts Ant and Dec , as well as judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams , get no kip in.
The soldier continued: “The Britain’s Got Talent team are amazing.
“I don’t know how they do it but they hardly sleep at all in that week because they’re so busy.
“But they’re always on form, always lovely and they’re a really switched on team. I don’t know how they manage it.”
He later added that contestants had to be ready with their acts due to the tight filming schedule.
“It was a quick turnaround,” Richard dished, “Everyone had to make sure they had a final prepared.
“In fact, what was a little bit of a shame was what I had in the final was special. It would have been a great moment to show love for the Forces.”
Ant and Dec are sure to have a more relaxed time on a different ITV project later this year – the pair will be heading Down Under for the new series of I’m A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here!
Ant sat out last year’s competition as he was attending rehab during the show’s runtime.
The star was being treated for alcohol and prescription medication abuse – ITV legend Holly Willoughby was on hand to step in alongside Dec.
Holly was a hit with fans, but Ant’s set to return to the jungle.
