Chelsea or Tottenham could land Kessie in January transfer after Milan ace ‘rejects new deal’ with contract up in summer

TOTTENHAM and Chelsea are set to battle it out for AC Milan star Franck Kessie in January’s transfer window.

The London rivals have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of the 24-year-old midfielder after he rejected Milan’s latest contract offer, according to Tutto Sport.

The Rossoneri had hoped their offer of £5.5million including bonuses over five years would’ve been enough to convince the Ivorian to stay put.

But Kessie, whose contract runs out next summer, seems to have his heart set on a move elsewhere as he turned down Milan’s offer.

And the Serie A giants will now probably want to cash in on the ex-Atalanta star before he can leave on a free.

Kessie’s Milan saga will be music to both the Blues and Spurs’ ears.

The Premier League giants have been heavily linked with Kessie throughout this summer.

It’s even been claimed that Tottenham planned to approach Kessie directly to offer him £6.8m-a-year.

Although it’s now been suggested that Spurs would prefer to do a swap deal for Kessie with Milan involving want-away star Tanguy Ndombele.

It is understood Tottenham’s sporting director Fabio Paratici has already held a meeting with Kessie’s agent Ataganga, according to Alessandro Jacobone.

Jacobone adds Ataganga would also receive a significant commission, too.

But Chelsea are reportedly willing to throw a spanner in the works by matching any offer that Spurs make for Kessie.

Paris Saint-Germain have waded into the mix and are also said to be considering a swap deal for the centre-midfielder.

The Ligue 1 giants are reportedly willing to exchange either Mauro Icardi or Leandro Paredes for Kessie.
