Coronation Street staff are reportedly ‘fuming’ after finding out their soap rivals in Yorkshire Dales earn more money than they do and work less hours.
According to The Sun , the Corrie crew are thinking of joining the trade union Unite to make a stand about not receiving the same as Emmerdale staff.
A soap source told the publication: “The crew on Corrie are fuming as they’ve learned that the Emmerdale crew are on better deals, getting paid more for less hours, and are getting loads of overtime.”
The source added: “In some instances, there’s as much as £10,000 between people doing the same job on different crews.”
The source also revealed that pay rises are being discussed for January but that the crew think “it’s too little, too late.”
Both TV soaps produce six episodes a week, which has caused anger amongst the Coronation Crew.
Staff working on Emmerdale, which is currently in a pregnancy twist after characters Kerry Wyatt and Cain Dingle slept together, are ‘fuming’ following the news.
In recent episodes of Coronation Street , viewers watched Gemma Winter give birth to one of her quadruplets.
In true Gemma and Chesney fashion, they were stuck in a broken down cable car and lost her engagement ring as she went into labour.
Elsewhere, an innocent David Platt was charged with attempted murder and rapist Josh Tucker was stabbed in prison and left in a coma following the recent riot.
Meanwhile on Emmerdale, Vinnie and Mandy were caught after trying to make away with Lydia’s cash and were forced to face the ‘Dingle court’.
While, Cain Dingle is set to sleep with Kerry Wyatt in explosive scenes next week.
