Daniel Dubois calls out unbeaten Brit rival Joe Joyce for September fight after demolishing Nathan Gorman

DANIEL DUBOIS has wasted no time in calling out Joe Joyce following his stoppage win against Nathan Gorman at the 02 Arena.

The 21-year-old won the vacant British heavyweight title on Saturday night as he floored his rival twice as he knocked him out in the fifth round.

Daniel Dubois has revealed he is open to fighting Joe Joyce in his next outing in September

Joyce, 33, was also competing on the bill, as he outpointed American Bryant Jennings to take his record to 10-0.

The 2016 Olympic silver medallist is eyeing up a shot at the WBA ‘regular’ title – currently held by Manuel Charr.

Speaking to Behind the Gloves after his win, Dubois said: “It’s very satisfying, I pulled it out of the bag tonight.

“I had to stay calm under pressure and go to work and I came through with the victory.

“I put a lot out of my system, all the feelings before hand I got out of my system tonight and now we just go back to the gym and rest up, two weeks out and then it’s back to work.

“Frank [Warren] said I’ll be out September again.”

One potential opponent could be his compatriot Joyce, Dubois said of the Juggernaut: “It’s definitely an option on the table and it’s another challenge.

“I wouldn’t shy away from anyone and if Joe Joyce wants it next, we’ll have it.”

“It’s up to Frank and everyone else to put the matches together.

“I’m not rushing into anything. I got time, I’m only 21, I’ve got room to learn and grow as a fighter.”
