EastEnders' Phil makes dramatic return with deadly request for mystery character

EastEnders set the scene for the deadly boat tragedy which is just days away, with an epic return during Friday night’s episode.

Phil Mitchell was back in England, weeks after going on the run from the police to Portugal with daughter Louise.

He was wanted for the murder of her boyfriend Keanu Taylor, after the Mitchells discovered his affair with Phil’s wife Sharon.

On Christmas Day he was murdered by Martin Fowler, ordered to carry out the crime by Ben, only for Martin to fake the death and let him flee.

Keanu made his shock return to Walford this week, with Ben finally finding out he was alive the entire time.

EastEnders legend Phil Mitchell made his big return

Not only that, but Keanu has kidnapped Ben’s boyfriend Callum Highway, threatening to kill him if he isn’t given £100,000.

Ben had no option but to tell his dad everything, with Phil the only one with that kind of money.

In the latest episode of the BBC soap, Ben was fearful as he failed to get through to his dad.

Ben Mitchell begged for his dad Phil’s help

As Keanu continued to threaten Callum’s life, he told Ben he had three hours to get him the cash.

Ben was waiting on a mystery person to deliver the cash on Phil’s behalf, and panicked when he was a no-show.

That was because Phil himself was delivering the money in person, landing back in the UK without telling his son.

Phil said on the phone: “It’s me. I need a favour, yeah? A big one.”

What exactly he has planned will be revealed next week ahead of some seriously dramatic and deadly episodes, as disaster hits the boat party on the River Thames.

Several characters will be left fighting for their lives, with Keanu, Ben and Phil right at the centre of the stunt – but who survives?

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
