EastEnders aired dramatic scenes on Thursday night as Mick Carter announced to the entire pub he and wife Linda were getting a divorce.

As their lives spiralled more and more amid Linda’s alcoholism, things took a painful turn.

Linda brutally lashed out at her hubby, played by Danny Dyer, in front of everyone – even insulting him over his recent mental health issues.

But it seemed the whole of Walford were team Mick, with the likes of Karen Taylor and Jack Branning telling her to stop.

Linda ended up falling over after her foul-mouthed rant, with Mick not even helping her up.

EastEnders fans are convinced a Carter will be killed off in the boat stunt

Instead, he told her “see you in court” as they prepare for their fight for custody of son Ollie, and a potential divorce.

Now, fans believe this is a sign that one of them isn’t going to make it to court.

With the boat stunt just days away, viewers fear either Mick or Linda is going to be tragically killed off.

Linda Carter is rumoured to die in the boat tragedy

The spoilers and the trailer for the huge week has teased both characters will be left fighting for their lives in the water.

Taking to Twitter , viewers began to speculate one of the Carters would be killed off in the stunt – seeing no way back for the family.

One fan commented: “I think it’s gonna be Mick who dies. And Linda is gonna push him in the Thames. We know Mick can’t swim that well.”

Mick’s words to Linda made fans fear he would die

Another said: “That final scene felt like the conclusion of Mick and Linda. Feel more and more as we approach the anniversary one of them or someone close or important to the family may die.”

A third said: “After that episode I’m convinced it’s either Mick or Linda that dies really hope I’m wrong.”

But some fans were still sure it would be a surprise death, with a younger character losing their life.

One fan predicted Bex would be the one to die after her decision to accept pills from Dotty Cotton, while some viewers were convinced Sharon’s teen son Dennis would be killed off.

EastEnders airs Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One.
