Emmerdale fans went through a range of emotions last night, after watching in horror as Dan Spencer (Liam Fox) was rushed to hospital after suffering an allergic reaction and hurting his back as he fell. But one sneaky resident is hiding something, and tried to frame someone else for the accident.
After taking advantage of Eric’s new menu launch for the free alcohol also on offer, Dan was left feeling extremely hungover the following day.
He was made to work in the cafe by Brenda Walker (Lesley Dunlop), as a way of apologising for an error he made but little did he know it would end in a visit to the hospital.
After making it to the garage, Dan started to feel unwell after snacking on food from the cafe while preparing the wraps, and panicked when he felt his throat starting to close up.
As he reached for his phone to call for help, he slipped and fell onto a piece of equipment, badly injuring his back in the process.

Brenda and Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) happened to find him collapsed on the floor of the garage as he struggled for breath and quickly called for an ambulance.
But ITV viewers were left outraged after Brenda was shown hiding the wrapper from one of her tasty lunch items.
In the moment, she concealed the incriminating evidence, worried about the consequences if the mechanic’s allergic reaction was down to her.
While her panicked action may not have surprised all fans, the fact she didn’t come clean about it later on, did.
But if doing the dirty deed wasn’t bad enough, she then decided to blame it on local nurse Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson), who she had seen give Dan some tablets earlier to cure his hangover.
As his ex Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) began trying to piece together the puzzle of what could have triggered the horrific allergy, she went straight to Brenda to confront her, knowing that Dan would have picked up lunch from the cafe.
To get Kerry off her back after she became convinced she was hiding something, Brenda placed the blame on Wendy.
Will the innocent resident suffer the consequences?
Or will Brenda do the right thing and confess?
And while Dan’s anaphylactic shock episode has got the village on edge, Eric is growing increasingly concerned about the health of another villager – young Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant).
It comes after he tried to use Jacob’s EpiPen to save Dan’s life while waiting for the ambulance to arrive, only to find out it was out of date.
Scolding his grandson for his carelessness, he told him to sort it out immediately, imagining the worst.
Is this a sign of things to come?
