Plans submitted to his local council reveal the existing ground floor extension will be demolished and replaced with a more modern design, while the lower ground floor will get a light well leading out to the garden.

A light well typically consists of a glass roof to let natural light into a property.

The basement will retain its gym, study and utility room. If approved, the changes will add a sizeable 76m2 to the home, with the work taking more than a year to complete. Plans state work would begin in September and end in December 2022.

Gordon became a dad for the fifth time in 2019 as he and wife Tana welcomed baby Oscar.

While kids Megan, 23, Jack, Holly, both 21, and Tilly, 19, and are all grown up, it looks like Gordon could do with another bed for visits home.

The home regularly features on the family’s social media accounts and Gordon has even filmed for TV in its restaurant standard kitchen.

There’s bright artwork, stylish furnishings and an immaculately kept garden.

Despite a rocky year that has seen his businesses miss out on £58million in turnover due to the pandemic, multi-millionaire Gordon is still pushing on with the pricey renovation.

And just last week he was pictured eyeing up an electric Porsche for an eye-watering £250,000.

While restaurants have been forced to temporarily close for months at a time, Gordon’s has maintained a solid income with his TV work.

His latest project is a new competition show called Next Level Chef with Gino D’Acampo.

For the FOX show, Gordon has designed a one-of-a-kind culinary gauntlet set over three stories high, with each floor containing a stunningly different kitchen.

He has opened up the competition and scoured the US for the very best line cooks, home chefs, social media stars, food truck owners and everything in between.
