Inside Piers Morgan’s bitter feud with BGT’s David Walliams after former GMB host accuses him of ‘liking nasty tweets’

EVERYBODY loves a good celebrity feud – especially when it involves Piers Morgan.

The former GMB host, 56, is known for his very public spats, and today he reignited his fall out with his Britain’s Got Talent rival David Walliams.

Taking to Twitter, Piers branded him “the worst” after someone pointed out that David often ‘liked’ nasty posts written about his nemesis.

The pair’s toxic relationship took a further plunge early last year when Piers – who was a judge on BGT from 2007 to 2011 – said David made his “skin crawl”.

Back in January 2020 he revealed that he wouldn’t be attending the National Television Awards as David was hosting.

Piers made his feelings perfectly clear in a chat with the Mirror and said of the ceremony: “There’s no point when the same people win the same awards ever year.

“I’d rather stay at home and watch Groundhog Day and the host David Walliams makes my skin crawl.”

Their long-running spat started when David took over Piers’ role on BGT back in 2012.

The presenter – not afraid of boosting up his ego – told how the ratings for the ITV series had slumped because of his departure, and David’s arrival.

Piers branded the comedian a “snivelling toady”when they exchanged slurs online.

Noting David had liked tweets that attacked him, Piers publicly called him out.

He wrote: “Amusing that ⁦@davidwalliams regularly ‘likes’ the nastiest tweets about me, yet is such a snivelling toady to my face.”

The former Britain’s Got Talent judge then taunted him over the difference in the show’s ratings since his day, writing: “It’s not my fault ⁦@BGT ⁩ ratings were so much higher when I was in your chair Dave!”

Piers also reignited the feud last autumn when he was asked whether he would ever return as a judge on BGT.

Speaking to the Mirror again, he said: “I do have conversations with BGT every now and again.

“But I couldn’t work with Walliams. I think he is a duplicitous, treacherous,
piece of work.”

Continuing his critique of the comic he said: “He is one of those people who says one thing to your face and then sticks it to you behind your back.

“If he was sitting there I wouldn’t be interested. But if he wasn’t sitting there, who knows?”

Piers even joked he would like to be the one to sack David from the panel.

He said cheekily: “I will come back to BGT if the money is right and if they guarantee Walliams gets fired.

“I might even make it a contractual clause that I get to be the one
who tells him he is fired. If I was him I would stick to writing his children’s books.”
