Man Utd transfer news: Sancho 'in daily contact' as rivals enter Skriniar talks

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is playing a difficult game.

The Red Devils boss is balancing the club’s Europa League campaign with work in the transfer market in a bid to turn his team into Premier League title challengers next season.

United’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho is proving to be one of the summer’s biggest transfer sagas, while Solskjaer also needs to improve his defence by finding a long-term centre-back partner for Harry Maguire.

Here are the latest Manchester United transfer rumours.

Sancho in contact with United players

Jadon Sancho is reportedly in a WhatsApp group with Manchester United players

Jadon Sancho remains in contact with several high-profile Manchester United players as talks over a move from Borussia Dortmund continue.

There are only five weeks until the start of the 2020/2021 season, and Sancho has been consistently linked with a move to Old Trafford.

And according to journalist Ian McGarry, the winger is in regular contact with several United players as a potential transfer edges closer.

“Manchester United are comfortable at this moment in time that they’re not in any competition for the signature of Jadon Sancho,” McGarry said on the Transfer Window podcast.

“They don’t believe they’re going to be gazumped by another club because no other club has expressed the same level of interest. They’re also very confident the player wants to come to Old Trafford.

“He has been in constant touch with England international colleagues who currently play for Manchester United and indeed in daily contact with them.

“It’s even believed he’s on a WhatsApp group with some of the Manchester United players as well.

“Therefore United are very comfortable with their position – they believe that Dortmund will come round to the structure that they’ve suggested.”

West Ham battling Everton for United ace

Diogo Dalot is being courted by some of United’s Premier League rivals

West Ham United and Everton are both interested in United full-back Diogo Dalot.

Dalot, 21, moved to Old Trafford from Porto but has looked less than convincing in the majority of his appearances.

He has fallen down the pecking order at Old Trafford in the wake of Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s move to the club, and is now being touted as a potential departure this summer.

That has alerted both Everton and West Ham. David Moyes can currently call on Ryan Fredericks, but the departure of Pablo Zabaleta has opened a space in the squad, with Dalot seen as the ideal candidate.

It’s a similar story at Everton where Djibril Sidibe has returned to Monaco after his loan spell, while Seamus Coleman is nearing 32.

United target in talks with Tottenham

Milan Skriniar has been on the radar of several Premier League sides

Milan Skriniar is a target for Tottenham Hotspur this summer, with the club in talks with Inter Milan.

Skriniar, 25, has been on the radar of several Premier League sides including Liverpool and Manchester United, but Tottenham currently lead the chase.

The Slovakian international has fallen out of favour under Antonio Conte, and the Italian now sees him as a prime candidate to help raise funds for future purchases.
