Amazon Prime Day is here. The annual sales event sees thousands of prices dropped across the US shopping site. And if you’re looking to treat yourself to some new goodies from Apple, there’s never been a better time. The latest iPad model, released last year, has dropped to its lowest price tag – dipping beneath the £310 mark.
The tablet packs a 10.2-inch Retina display, support for the first-generation Apple Pencil for doodling and writing notes, an A12 Bionic chipset to run apps side-by-side, and compatibility with Smart Keyboard if you want to use the iPad for work. Apple launched the tablet last year for £329 and hasn’t really enjoyed much of a discount since then. And now, Amazon has dropped the tablet to £309.
If you’re not interested in an iPad, Amazon has also dropped the price of the Apple Watch. And there are some steals to be had. Apple Watch Series 3 is currently available from £169. For that, you’ll get a smartwatch with built-in GPS to track walks, runs and workouts outside when your iPhone is at home, waterproof design for swimming, and heart-rate sensor.
Apple Watch also brings notifications to your wrist, so you can reply to WhatsApp and other messages without pulling your iPhone from your pocket, turn-by-turn directions come to your Watch, as well as phone calls, contactless payments and more. You can also use the Apple Watch to find a misplaced iPhone in your home… one of the smaller features, but one that gets used more than any other!
If you want a slightly newer model, Apple Watch Series 6 has an electrocardiogram (ECG), blood oxygen level measurement, and a slightly larger OLED screen. That bigger screen is also brighter, which helps when viewing the Apple Watch outside. If you’re planning a lot of outdoor running this summer… you might want to plump for the pricier model.
While you usually won’t get much change from £400 to buy an Apple Watch Series 6 – the latest model of the popular Apple smartwatch that launched last year – you can pick one up in the Prime Day sales for as little as £329.
Of course, as always with the annual Prime Day sales, you’ll need to have a Prime membership to buy any of these discounted goodies. Thankfully, you won’t have to pay the £79 annual membership fee today, instead, Express.co.uk has a simple way of getting the discounts without paying Amazon for the subscription service. You’ll need to sign-up for a 30-day trial, place your order, and then cancel the Prime membership after your order arrives in the mail.
Amazon lets you cancel the Prime trial at any point during the 30-days without incurring any costs at all. If you do decide to keep your Prime membership, you’ll get next-day (or sometimes same day) shipping on items handled by Amazon, free Kindle books, movie and boxset streaming via Prime Video, unlimited photo back-up, and more.
