Piers Morgan, 55, and Susanna Reid, 50, were joined by Alex, 40, Dr Hilary Jones, 67, and Charlotte Hawkins, 45, to discuss the fallout of the interview after it aired on ITV on Monday evening. The Good Morning Britain team spoke about the claims Meghan Markle, 39, and Prince Harry, 36, made that a member of the Royal Family expressed concerns about the colour of their son Archie’s skin before he was born. As the panel conversed on the matter, the outspoken journalist ended up walking off the set as he clashed with his co-star.
Alex said: “They have had an overwhelming amount of negative press. I watched the programme yesterday and yes they had some great press around the wedding – what press is going to trash someone’s special day?
“There was bad press around the engagement and everything that has followed since has been incredibly damaging quite clearly to Meghan’s mental health and also to Harry.
“And I hear, Piers, William has gone through the same thing but you know what? Siblings experience tragedy in their life and one will be absolutely fine and brush it off and the other will not be able to deal with it so strongly.
“And that is clearly what has happened with Prince Harry in this situation. He walked behind his mother’s coffin at a tender age in front of the globe – that is going to shape a young boy for the rest of his life.
“So I think we all need to take a step back and I understand you don’t like Meghan Markle, you’ve made it so clear a number of times on this programme, a number of times.”

The weather presenter then touched a nerve as he said to Piers: “And I understand you’ve got a personal relationship with Meghan Markle or you had one and she cut you off.
“She’s entitled to cut you off if she wants to. Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has and yet you continue to trash her.”
The host was then seen stepping away from the desk as he told the team: “I’m done with this. See you later.
“Sorry, I can’t do this,” he added as he walked towards the doors of the studio to make his departure from the debate.
“Absolutely diabolical behaviour. I’m sorry but Piers spouts off on a regular basis and we all have to sit there and listen,” Alex continued before adding: “It’s incredibly hard to watch.”
