Real reason why Love Island sex scenes are not being shown on TV this year

32views

Love Island fans have complained about the “sexless” villa this year, but an insider has claimed that panicking bosses are choosing not to show the romps on TV.

In previous years, viewers have watched Islanders get hot and heavy under the covers – something that resulted in ex-Islander Zara Holland having her Miss Great Britain crown taken away for.

The 23-year-old, who was only 20 when she appeared on the ITV2 show in 2016, has said that having sex on TV “destroyed her life”.

And it seems like bosses are finally taking note and have scrapped the sex scenes because they don’t want to “ruin lives”.

A source told The Sun : “There’s a few couples having sex in the villa but it hasn’t been shown on TV – bosses are worried about upsetting them and fear ruining their lives.

“Everyone is being extra careful about the well-being of the cast and how they will deal with the aftermath if their sex scenes are shown.”

They explained that most of the Islanders aren’t comfortable with their sex scenes being aired and bosses are taking it into account.

The insider added: “ITV bosses are being extra cautious after suicides and it’s easier to not show the sex – if it happens it’s alluded to in the commentary by Iain Stirling rather than explicitly shown – chances are we might never see anyone have sex on Love Island again.”

However the Islanders have been seen performing sex acts on one another, including when Tommy was spooning Molly-Mae, who gasped “Jesus Christ”.

Another time saw Molly-Mae reach below the covers and whisper “It’s f***ing huge.”

Meanwhile ex-lovers Amy and Curtis are believed to have been getting intimate under the covers.
