Sainsbury’s is extending its partnerships with both Deliveroo and Uber Eats, making it possible for more customers to order their Sainsbury’s groceries easily by using the apps. Groceries will be delivered straight to shoppers’ doors in as little as 30 minutes.
This means that more people across the UK will be able to order their groceries via the apps and get them delivered to their door in 30 minutes or less.
All customers need to do is download either Deliveroo or Uber Eats from the app store to their smartphone and search for Sainsbury’s.
The delivery service expansion was introduced yesterday, and of the new stores included in the Deliveroo launch, 22 are in London.
The rest are in other English and Scottish cities, including Glasgow, Aberdeen, Liverpool, Newcastle, York, and Leeds.
Meanwhile, the new stores partnering with Uber Eats are in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Nottingham, Liverpool, Northampton, and Portsmouth.

Customers can choose from over 1,000 products to order via both Deliveroo and Uber Eats, including Sainsbury’s Taste the Difference ready meals, fresh fruit, vegetables, and plenty of store cupboard essentials.
Deliveroo also revealed the top five products that its customers have been buying from Sainsbury’s since November, which are the supermarket’s own brand Fairtrade bananas, semi-skimmed milk, whole cucumbers, avocadoes, and free-range large eggs.
Online deliveries have been more popular than ever this year, therefore Sainsbury’s new partnerships with two of the country’s biggest food delivery services will make it easier for customers to do their weekly shop.
Toussaint Wattinne, Uber Eats General Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be expanding our partnership with Sainsbury’s, offering over 1,000 fresh grocery and essential items for speedy delivery via the Uber Eats app.
“The addition of these new stores will provide greater convenience for customers across the country at a time when home delivery options are so important.”
Nigel Blunt, Director of eCommerce at Sainsbury’s, also commented on the supermarket’s partnership with Uber Eats.
He said: “Partnering with Uber Eats helps us offer customers another way to get Sainsbury’s groceries delivered to their doors quickly and conveniently.
“The partnership has helped us increase our home grocery delivery capacity and we’re excited to be bringing the offer to more locations across the UK.”
Eric French, Chief Marketplace Officer at Deliveroo, added: “We are delighted to announce this expansion of our new partnership with Sainsbury’s, which has proved so popular with customers.”

“We are excited to continue expanding this partnership in the weeks ahead and offer Sainsbury’s amazing products to even more customers across the UK.”
The launch of the grocery delivery service to more stores comes at the same time as the reopening of non-essential shops in England and Wales.
Although this means the easing of some lockdown restrictions, rules in supermarkets have not changed.
Customers entering supermarkets must still wear a face covering and adhere to social distancing guidelines.
Shoppers must also try to shop alone or with other members of their household.
