Snap up a fantastic deal and enjoy an all-inclusive half term holiday to Belek

OK, I’m all in. It took some persuading but now there’s no going back – not until the kids are grown up, anyway.

All-inclusive for our family of five does not come cheap on the face of it.
But having been a human cash machine on self-catering holidays in previous years, I’m a convert.

Snap up a fantastic deal and enjoy an all-inclusive half term holiday to Belek

Can we have an ice cream? Can we have a lemonade? Fresh fruit? Sweets? Donuts? Chips?

The only thing moving as fast as the money out of my wallet is the kerching of the cash till.

So paying it all upfront and then lying back, saying: “Yes, we’re on holiday” . . . now that’s relaxing!

All-inc critics will say: “There’s only one restaurant, I got fed up of the food, they water down the drinks, it’s too busy at the buffet, the entertainment is too loud . . . ”

Not here. Not in Belek, just along the coast from Lara Beach in Turkey.

The Gural Premier hotel is laid out like a village, in small three-storey blocks, designed in traditional Turkish style.

Foam parties

With cobbled paths, sheltered from the roasting sun by palms, you could be anywhere, right?

Yes, it’s a purpose-built paradise, but it’s my purpose-built paradise.

Private beach, warm sea, huge main pool, beachside bars, kids’ clubs, spa and poolside entertainment come as standard in these parts.

What sets this place apart are comfy mattresses on sun loungers, drinks delivered by quite brilliant staff, no need to charge down early for beds — the list goes on.

Spirits are premium, beer served in ice-cold glasses and the choice of local or European lager, cocktails where you can actually taste the alcohol, all with no queues.

And the waterpark is incredible. If we had to pay extra to go in every day with kids of 14, six, three (and 36!), we would have. But it’s all pre-paid.

The 27 slides are complemented by a lazy river, Jacuzzi section, baby beach . . .  oh, and its own lunch restaurant, bar and ice cream fridges.

You just help yourself here — just make sure you take the bottled water with the beer and Magnum. So the food is all the same, right?

Wrong. The only thing I ate more than once was the breakfast omelette cooked to order, spicy nuts with the beer and the cheese after dinner.

We visited the Italian a la carte once and will go more next time. Turkish, seafood and Mediterranean options are also available.

But the buffet restaurant for dinner, where you also eat breakfast, is phenomenal.

Steak, fresh-carved roasted meats and rotisserie, freshly cooked fish, theme nights, gala dinners with sushi, salmon and champagne — better do a width of the pool to work some of it off.

There are kids’ stations, freshly made pizzas and mountains of fruit cut for you when you want it.

Evening entertainment can get repetitive, but not here, with a kids’ funfair night, a laser show and outdoor rave on gala night, foam parties and more chilled live music at different bars. It kept the grandparents, parents, teens and kids happy.

Oh, and did I mention that championship golf courses are on the doorstep?

That’s if you can get yourself up early enough — it’s too hot otherwise! The village of Belek is nearby for a mooch and a haggle over a knock-off Premier League shirt too.

We’ve been waiting until we could go back and now, finally, Turkey is off the red list and it’s on OUR go list.

Just one thing: don’t forget to fetch your wallet from the safe when you leave. It’s the only time you’ll need it.
