Sony offers P30 Pro and Galaxy S10 owners a big reason to switch to its new Xperia 1

Sony’s all-new Xperia 1 II is the best smartphone the firm has made in while but it’s also one of the most expensive. To take delivery of this impressive phone you’ll need almost £1,100 in the bank which makes it more pricey than the Galaxy S20, OnePlus 8 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro and P40 Pro.

As you can read in our recent Xperia 1 II review, we’ve been left hugely impressed by the Xperia 1 II but that price is an issue as it’s simply way too expensive.

At launch, Sony was bundling a pair of wireless headphones to anyone who purchased this new flagship and now there’s a new incentive aimed at making things a bit more enticing.

Sony has launched a new ‘Switch-Up’ deal which is available to anyone who hands over their existing phone, such as the 30 Pro or Galaxy S10, when buying a new Xperia device.

If you have a redundant smartphone in your bedroom drawer then you could get up to £570 in cashback.

However, you can get even more value for money by opting for Sony vouchers instead with some phones worth £1,000.

This can then be spent on gadgets including the latest BRAVIA TVs, award-winning WF-1000XM3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones, cameras or a Bluetooth Home Audio System.

As an example, users could trade in their old iPhone Pro for up to £570 cashback, or £1,140 of Sony vouchers, while the Huawei P30 Pro could offer a return of £260 cash or £520 of Sony kit.

If you own a Galaxy S10 you’ll get £270 cashback or £550 in vouchers.

There’s plenty of devices that can be traded in for vouchers and you can check how much your old device is worth by here.

Here’s how Sony’s deal works.
