Strictly Come Dancing fans were left baffled by Anton du Beke’s drastic hair transformation on today’s This Morning.
The professional ballroom dancer was on the ITV show to discuss his new book and the progress of celeb partner Emma Barton.
Anton revealed he was embracing the spray tan this year for the very first time but had not gone for the full body.
But This Morning viewers were distracted by what was happening on top of his head rather than his face.
They pointed out Anton’s very dark hair – with many questioning whether he had dyed it jet black.
Some compared it to a lego helmet, while another claimed he was going for the Joker look.
This Morning viewers took to Twitter after noticing the change in Anton’s hair.
One viewer said: “Has Anton dyed his hair??? Looks like a lego helmet!”
“Anton’s hair is so dark, it makes Darth Vader look albino! Jesus wept,” added another.
A third said: “I can only assume Anton’s stylist was called away to some sort of emergency….that hair dye is about 2 hours over developed”
Anton admitted he had not had much opportunity to practise with his celeb partner this week because of her commitments for EastEnders.
He explained that Emma had been shooting scenes on Monday and Tuesday so they only got into the training room on Wednesday.
This could prove problematic for their Paso Doble at the weekend, but Anton is confident it suits Emma’s strengths.
He said: “She’s doing really well. Constantly working on EastEnders. A busy schedule there. Doing two massive jobs.
“This week has been a struggle. She was filming Monday and Tuesday. We only got into he studio on Wednesday. Before you know it it’s going to be Saturday. She’s such a hard worker.”
Anton also admitted he was glad to be progressing a lot further than usual in the competition.
He said: “It’s a different story for me. We’re doing great dances. I can put away the humorous side now and do something else.
“As a choreographer, dancer a perfomer. It gives me a new feel which is lovely.”
