Strictly Come Dancing has revealed a first look at Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher on the show, after he replaced Jamie Laing on the 2019 line-up.
Made in Chelsea star Jamie had to pull out after suffering a nasty foot injury during the launch of the series.
Kelvin, who played Andy Sugden on Emmerdale, was confirmed to be replacing him shortly after the news broke, with Jamie since speaking out in his first TV interview.
Now, the BBC series has released a video showing Kelvin in his sparkly ballroom outfit for the first time as he discusses his new venture.
Shared on the Strictly Twitter account, Kelvin confessed he felt a “little bit alien” about taking on the show and those glittery costumes.
Kelvin also revealed his excitement, as he told viewers what he could bring to the dancing series ahead of pairing up with professional partner Oti Mabuse.
He explained: “As an actor I can bring the story, the narrative in each performance.
“If I can’t do that, then… might as well give up as an actor, hadn’t I?”
Kelvin revealed music would play a big part on his time on the show, confessing he’s a huge fan of all genres.
He even showed off some of his moves in the short video, giving a teaser for what was to come.
Kelvin added of his dancing idol: “My dancing idol, I guess is my dad, because growing up watching him dance to Northern Soul… he used to do the little shimmy on the dancefloor and I used to think, ‘oooh he looks cool’.
“Now’s my chance to try and emulate him.”
Viewers are now tipping Kelvin to go on and win the show, while former pro footballer Alex Scott is also tipped for success.
Strictly Come Dancing 2019 launches live on BBC One on Saturday September 21.
