The Fast 800 diet – pioneered by Dr Michael Mosley – turbocharges weight loss by eating no more than 800 calories a day for the first couple of weeks.

“This puts your body into a ketogenic state that should help you to lose weight,” explained Dr Amir.

You then progress to 5:2 stage – where you’re only required to eat this number of calories for two days a week, while adhering to a sensible diet on the other five days.
