It is designed to be self-funding but used council resources to advertise it.

A misspelt sheet tells people “to be confident in how to accessories an outfit”.

Mum Janet Wilson, 30, said: “If you need lessons in putting on shoes you’re probably beyond help.”

Annabelle Wright, 22, said: “What’s next? How to switch on a light?”

The Tory-run council overspent its 2017 budget by millions and had to halt all non-essential spending twice last year.

It said the course is meant to be fun and help with job interviews.
